Dear Mr. President,
We, at the organization “Women’s Voice in Action”, welcome the establishment of the Council on Support of Entrepreneurship in Martial Law as a consultative and advisory body under the President of Ukraine in accordance with Presidential Decree 30/2024 of January 26, 2024, recognizing its vital role in supporting the development of entrepreneurship during these difficult times. This initiative is a significant step towards economic resilience and growth in Ukraine and, we hope, will lay the groundwork for effective business environment reform.
However, reviewing the composition of the Council, we have noticed the absence of female experts or representatives of women’s business or women’s associations. At times when men are on the battlefield, the role of women as economic drivers significantly increases. Women play an important role in Ukraine’s business sector, and their vision and experience are invaluable, especially in developing policies that affect the entire business community. Women entrepreneurs not only make a significant contribution to the economy, but also bring diverse perspectives that can enrich decision-making processes.
In this regard, we propose the inclusion of women experts in the Council. Their involvement would ensure more comprehensive and effective solutions during martial law. Inclusion of women is not only a matter of gender balance; it is about using the full potential of our nation.
As an organization that strives to promote the leadership of Ukrainian women, “Women’s Voice in Action” is ready to participate in the dialogue and support initiatives that promote a more inclusive approach to economic decision-making in Ukraine.
We understand the problems associated with the restructuring of our social and economic landscape, exacerbated by the ongoing war. Especially at this time, the diverse representatives of our society, particularly the voices of women, become even more important. We eagerly await the opportunity to collaborate on efforts towards a more inclusive economic future for Ukraine.
